Sara has been a consistent volunteer and active advocate for Doodle Dandy for five years. She serves as a volunteer on the social media and intake teams, even hosting a rescue event in her home during the holidays in 2024. She's a great volunteer, bringing her positivity, empathy, urgency, and passion to every role. That's why we're recognizing Sara for being a VIP Volunteer, an honor that she has earned and greatly deserves.
Sara's nomination expressed, "Sara has always shared her positive energy with Doodle Dandy Rescue, and she has a huge heart to help as many pups as she can. Her enthusiasm is contagious and sparks many other volunteers to step up and lend a hand wherever necessary. Sara empathizes with so many families that are having the difficult decision to rehome their dog. She understands the sense of urgency in many cases and acts swiftly to escalate the need to find a foster quickly to move the pups in dire situations."
She has fostered and adopted one of her two adorable furbabies (Jake) from us. She adopted her other furbaby (Cotton) from another rescue. Sara is a mother of two teenage daughters, and when she's not raising her daughters, spoiling Cotton & Jake, or volunteering for DDR, she's running her own personal training business. Sara's husband also plays a really supportive role in her volunteer work for Doodle Dandy, as he truly understands what a genuinely kind, generous, (& huge) heart Sara has when it comes to saving dogs' lives.
