One of the things that sets Doodle Dandy Rescue apart from other dog fostering opportunities is the level of support each foster dog and foster family get. As the graphic below shows, there's a whole team of volunteers for each foster family and dog.
Volunteer Team Member Job Descriptions
The Intake Volunteer decides which dogs we can bring into our rescue from requests from shelters, owners, and other rescues. They help coordinate pickup and transport of each dog.
Next the Foster Placement volunteer finds a matching foster home.
Once the dog is in their foster home, the Foster Mentor serves as the main point of contact for the family. The Foster Mentor advises throughout the dog's journey with us, and helps connect the fosters to any resources they need.
The second most active member of the dog's team is their medical volunteer, who advises on medical issues and helps communicate and coordinate with our partner vets.
Other team members include the Supply Coordinator, who gets supplies to the foster, the Social Media volunteer who posts the dog's journey on our social media channels, and the Adoption Coordinator who handles selecting the pawfect family and the adoption contract for the dog.
If the foster family decides not to adopt their foster dog, the Adoption Coordinator also works with the Web Posting volunteer, the Bio Writer and possibly a photography volunteer to get the dog posted for adoption on our website.
