My Doodle Story
Pace: Heart & Soul
Home is Where the Heart Is:
Pace is definitely fun-sized and enjoys his canine pals. He has no clue that he's tiny and will tap-in to any wrestling match. He needs another dog in the home to show him the ropes.
Neat-freaks please apply. Pace is a typical toddler—everything goes into his mouth. His family will need to control access to nonfood items as he is learning.
His family will need to continue to administer his medication (approx $12/month) and monitor his heart condition, which will require regularly scheduled echocardiograms throughout his life to make sure his pulmonary valve remains open.
Yes, he’s cute and adorable, but he will grow up. He has lots to learn about being a great forever family member and is eager to please!
A Story With Heart
If you’ve been following his story, you know that behind this adorable face is the heart of a warrior. Pace was born with a congenital heart defect. This mighty mite has won over the hearts of medical professionals, volunteers, and doodle lovers everywhere who have been part of his journey to identify and treat his heart malformation. He is now a thriving puppy. Through medicines, office visits, sonograms, surgery, recovery, and all the poking and prodding, Pace has been resilient, plucky, and a typical puppy. He is happiest when wrestling with other pups or snuggling with his kids. He’s got a mischievous, slightly naughty streak that would absolutely get him into trouble if he weren’t so cute! He will swear that he didn’t hear you say to stay out of the mud. He is a bit of a velcro dog who likes you in his sight if he's not in his crate and loves to be held like a baby. Initially cautious, he is very adaptable and quickly loves everyone. Once he's settled into the household routine, he is happy with morning and evening play sessions for exercise and pretty chill for the rest of the day. He does have puppy habits and energy, so tolerant playmates are a must. He would probably even live well with a cat who isn’t afraid to set boundaries for curious puppies.
