Introducing Niko - quite possible the sweetest, most gentle soul ever. Niko just loves love. Maybe he knows the paradox of "I love you" is that when you give one heart, you get back two! He would love for you to pet and love on him all day long, but he can also politely lay close to you while you work. He’s happy on a walk or napping with you on the sofa. Because he wants to please, he responds very well to training. This gentle training will need to be a routine part of his day because it creates a bond Niko needs to feel safe and thrive in his new forever home.

Leash-training and greeting guests are high on his training goals! While we don’t know all the details of Niko’s prior life, he came to DDR very thin and shies from loud/harsh voices. He doesn’t know some of the things many dogs know to do like play with toys or chase a ball. It is such happiness to watch him learn the joys most dogs already know.

Niko will need to be with an experienced owner(s) who understands how to work with dogs using patience and a kind voice. Families are fine as long as someone works from home or is home a lot. Children who are of the age to respect and care for a canine companion are also okay. Since Niko has had some neglect, he will need an environment where he gets love and attention and is truly part of a family. A canine sibling would be okay, but Niko will also thrive as an only dog. And all dogs want a fenced yard to call their own!

If you believe you can faithfully be Niko’s new family, his fee is $500. He is neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped, and current on all vaccinations. All adoption fees go towards expenses like medical costs, food and grooming for Doodle Dandy dogs and make it possible for us to give so many dogs like Niko a second chance to find happiness and love.
